The First Swim of Summer

Summer has finally arrived and my kids like to celebrate this occasion with breaking out the swimming pool and taking a dip. Below you will see that the water was pretty chilly. Neither kiddo was expecting this.

Finally they get use to water temperature enough that they can pose for the camera and Madison is not afraid to soak up a few rays. Both kids enjoyed themselves and walked away with sunburns, but both will tell you it was worth it. When can we do that again?

When it rains on your parade...

You go barefoot and begin to play. The kids were out playing in the yard and a summer rain came up suddenly. They really did not want to end their fun so we ditched the shoes and had some fun playing in the puddles. Here are a few shots from their outdoor fun.

Muncie Children's Museum

We were able to make a family trip to the Children's Museum in Muncie Memorial weekend. Here are a few highlights from our trip. Noah was pretty excited to see the dinosaurs, but when we got there they had recordings of dinosaur noises and he decided he wasn't a big fan.

Papaw and Madison have fun playing with puppets. They put on a show or maybe Papaw put on a show for all of us.

Marsh sponsored an exhibit where the kids could play grocery store. This was Noah's favorite spot.

Madison takes her turn caring for the animals at the vets office. We all enjoyed our afternoon in Muncie.

New Living Furniture

We needed more space for guests in our house so we took the plunge and bought new furniture. Here is a peek at what our living room looks like, but if you want the real experience you will have to come visit. We have enough room for everyone now.

Let's Go Fly a Kite...

We had a couple nice days in a row in April so we tried our hand at kite flying. Paul gets us started.

Madison checks the wind speed. Yes, she thinks it will fly just fine.

Noah is not so sure. He puts his hands on his hips to think about it some more.

Okay, he'll try his now. Unfortunately his turtle doesn't fly as well as the owl.

He gives up and goes back to playing with the bubble mower.
